API costs calculated from published pricing as of June 2026: AWS Rekognition, Google Cloud Vision, Google Video Intelligence, OpenAI, Google Gemini, Anthropic Claude, Google STT, AWS Transcribe. Node allocation: ~4 operators per compute node. Detection hit rate: 3% of frames. Egress: ~50KB/frame. Commercial-off-the-shelf treatment follows the FAR concept of items sold in substantial commercial quantities and offered without modification. EdgeLance runs video inference, audio transcription, and mission AI locally on hardware teams already own or can buy through normal supply. Rugged/procured hardware is modeled as a planning proxy, not a quote.
